There I was, just driving along the beachfront at Davis Bay. I'm often so stunned at the beauty of this magnificent beachfront that I pull over and park, just to see what’s new on the panoramic scenery.
On this summer’s day I was richly rewarded. I could hardly believe my eyes. There, not far from the pebbled shore were a group of four killer whales, obviously engaged in a food hunt. I had noticed in the last few days there were large herring shoals moving past, so I thought they were probably enjoying a big fish meal. |
There's a sense of pure wonder when you see those majestic, beautiful whales in action. You get a feeling you've been granted a huge privilege by just glimpsing them.
Here’s what I saw.
- The best camera you can possibly use is the one that fits in your pocket, and is always readily available.
- The most notable color on this vid is blue, on blue, on blue. In summer this is wonderful, and breathtaking. It makes me happy.
- Why then, in winter, when it's grey, do I feel blue? And by this, I mean, unhappy?
- Few things are as peaceful as the sound of waves lapping gently on the beach. May this peace carry you through the week ahead, no matter where you are.
