I recently wrote about a recurring dream I'd had, actually three in a series of dreams. I was unable to interpret whether there was any actual meaning to it, and invited my readers to give their input. You can read it by clicking here.
Well, it was amazing how interesting people found this. Several emailed, as they found it so personal. But without exception, they were sincere in their thoughts, and I so appreciated their feedback, whether in the form of emails or comments. |
But today I want to present Martin’s take on the dream. Many thanks to all, and please keep them coming. We all learn from these different viewpoints. Here it is, verbatim. I'll be publishing them, with no identifying names.
I am incredibly touched by all your feedback and caring wishes.
Martin says...
The parking lot soul-scape is empty of activity yet showing signs of regeneration (plant life) through the cracks. Little happening then suddenly big drama! First the strong wind in dream two , a portent of a breakthrough or a strong “inter vention” The little plants i.e; the trivial concerns disappear; to be replaced by three large trees. Then extreme pruning of the two apple trees!!! Gone Gone the apple a day keeps the doctor away comfort zone. t feels like this choiceless, ruthless intervention heralds a dark night of the soul? But now attention focuses on the remaining pear tree, specifically on its fascinating fruit. Could we be dealing here with a case of mistaken identity?
Absorbed meditation on the paradoxical nature of the unity of opposites has a spaced out, abstract or “skeletonized” or bare bones feeling about it. Takes getting used to these deeper realities. What is useful is chopping down the trivial pursuits represented by the dichotomy of pitting conventional notions of good or bad, desirable or undesirable like or dislike against each other. Facebook--face value. The true eternal life changing values come from within.
