They were small flies, tiny light-bodied creatures, not like their squelchy, disgusting blowfly cousins. So it was at the same time a laughter-filled and yet awe-striking event, as we watched the “dance of the flies!” I'd never thought about them perhaps having microscopic brains...or was it that they sensed the vibrations of the music? Apparently I wasn't the only one to notice this wonderful affinity between flies and music.
Music sets the mood; etches joy, sadness, excitement, dread, into your brain. Babies love lullabies. Teens MUST have their music, changing in style through the generations. Once music affects you, it becomes a part of your soul, a gift to you that must carry you through hard times and also the best circumstances that life will offer.
Whenever I think of music, or hear it, I wonder what one of my dear far-away friends is listening to at that very moment. She is Maria Jordan, a member of my global sisterhood, and she IS music! They are inseparable, unimaginable without each other. There ain't no flies on that lady!
I know that dear Mareer, as I call her, makes every individual that crosses her path feel they are her best friend. We share a close bond on many levels. Her Momma, Miss Sammie from Georgia, loved Willie Nelson. See what I mean? So to honor Miss Sammie, here's some Willie music.
