Today we are pleased to share Maria Couchara Jordan's dessert recipe, surreptitiously 'borrowed' from her husband, Chef Geoff, and presented with a flourish to all out there who feel the need for something sweet to top off that bachelor meal. Honestly, how many blue desserts have you come across? Think about it, put some cream on the top, and you've got the red, white and blue! The possibilities are endless. |
There, you’ll find lots of stirringly beautiful poems and wonderfully crafted, heartfelt writing.
This recipe is remarkable, in that it really couldn't get much easier than this. You only have one bowl and one spoon to mix your ingredients together, and even to wash afterward. As an added bonus, if you take it to a potluck, or show off at a baby shower as some people do, you will definitely be tops in the popularity poll for the evening.
Yeah, Maria, you rock with this recipe!
Bonnie's blueberry fluff
I confess I am married to an excellent cook. Some of you may know him as Chef Geoff.
My Mother in law died in 1996. I think of Bonnie most every day. She raised a son who has many gifts, one being a passion they share(d) making others happy with delicious food. Geoff was 33-years-old when we married. I was a child bride. When I explained that I planned to present a recipe to Vicki, to be published in WarnerWords, Geoff’s response was "Best stick with something even you can make, honey." |
Ingredients
- 16 oz whipped Cool Whip (the only time we use it and homemade WILL NOT work, Vicki. It must be Cool Whip)
- 1 packet of jello (match it to your fruit choice and mix it in thoroughly with a whisk)
- 16 oz small curd cottage cheese--add and keep stirring, folding in. Isn't this easy?
- 2 cups berries (you can use blueberries, raspberries, strawberries--real light, don't bruise the fruit)
Directions
The picture we took is for a recent baby shower we catered. The size you see is double the order and was plenty for a dozen ladies at a party.
For a comfort-food that satisfies your sweet tooth without the guilts, try your hand at Bonnie's Fluff. Then pull out your Couchara (spoon) and enjoy!
Thanks, Vicki! Hoping for many more easy, delicious recipes start coming in!
Hugs to all!
